The University of Oklahoma's CENTER for Grant and Contract Studies is
sponsoring the Advanced Direct Cost Conference in San Francisco March
15-17. The equivalent of about one day will be spent discussing
recharge activities. Four sessions will cover Costing and Pricing
Methodology and Case Studies from the University of Arizona, Georgia
Tech and the University of California at San Diego. Cases include
payroll clearing accounts, clinical trials and hazardous materials costs.

Alternative cost recovery models for hazardous materials will be
presented and discussed Just as there are many kinds of hazardous
materials (processes, by-products, etc.), there are almost as many
ways to propose and recover costs. It is one of those areas where,
faculty, proposal developers, awarding agencies and accountants must work togeth
er to
build a system that is equitable for all parties.

Representatives of more than 60 colleges and universities around the
country have registered so there will be plenty of people to discuss
hazardous materials and other issues with.

Contact the CENTER for information.
