 UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND, COLLEGE PARK

TITLE :         GRANTS MANAGEMNT SPECIALIST

RESPONSIBILITIES:       Assume responsibility for the full range of
pre- and post-award research administration duties for grants,
contracts, cooperative agreements , and similar contractual
arrangements with a number of sponsor agencies.

QUALIFICATIONS:         Baccalaureate required , with advanced degree
preferred, and at least three years experience in similar work
demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility, and ability to work
independently.
Should have knowledge of Federal regulations, invention and copyright
issues, operating principles of reseach grant and contract clauses
suitable for a university, and ability to negotiate intelligently with
external and internal clientele.
Must have excellent communication skills, proficiency in interpersonal
techniques, ability to reconcile differing view points, and must be
able to function effectively in periodic crisis environments.

SALARY :        Competitive and commensurate with experience

$ 125 million annualy,with 80 % of that from a great variety of
Federal sponsors.The remainder are from State of Maryland. Corporations,
Foundations, and other non-profits.
