Often on projects, my PI's make up positions, and pay scales
for those positions, that have little to do with the
university and state job titles and pay scales. I am sure
this has NEVER happened to any of you. But on the off chance
 it has . .
Our Personnel wonks would like to have some verbage to attach
to a project employee's folder that explains that this job was
more or less dictated by the terms of the research project
agreement. That would allow us to avoid evaluating the job
and all of the hoo-ha associated with setting pay scales and
 such.
This is not designed to over pay clericals and such, but is
more to cover people who are case workers on service projects,
folks who work in outreach (like TRIO programs), certain types
of technical flkas. In each case the employees are term
appointments for the life of the project only.
Of course in all other areas we are wildly sopisticated here
at Limbaugh U, but I need your help on this one
Thanks,
 Spanky
