Angela,
At A-State, we currently distribute the recovered IDCs with 47% to our Research & Tech Transfer office (we are fully supported off of IDC funds for our salaries and the AVC of Research uses the IDC pool to also support research for faculty and students), 29% to the academic unit, 8% to the Provost, 3% to Finance and 3% to the Chancellor.

Regards,
Emily

Subject: [RESADM-L] Indirect cost recovery - restrictions on use

Hello,

Are there any restrictions on the use of indirect costs earned through federal grants? For example, we set aside 25% of the indirect costs recovered for PIs and 50% for the school to use for further research efforts. If some of the indirect costs recovered were used to hire a person to apply for grants, would that be allowable?

Thank you,

Angela Carron
