Stevens Institute of Technology (SIT) has an opening for a Pre-Award Specialist with the Office of Sponsored Programs.

Job Title:	 OSP Preaward Specialist
Department:	 Faculty Support and Pre-Award Center
Position Type:	 Full Time

REQUIREMENTS:
We're looking for someone who is thoughtful, considerate of their co-workers and constituency, quick, and who enjoys being regarded as a ‘go-to' resource and part of a solution resolution.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION - Bachelor's Degree or combination of experience and education  that equals 4 years of formal study
EXPERIENCE - If the candidate has an earned bachelor's degree; then 1 year in a position of related or similar         responsibilities
INFORMATION SYSTEMS KNOWLEDGE - Must be skilled and thoroughly familiar with the Microsoft suite, including Excel OTHER - Must be willing to study and sit for the CRA (Certified Research Administrator)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION -Master's Degree and CRA
EXPERIENCE - 2-3 years in sponsored projects at an institution of higher education INFORMATION SYSTEMS KNOWLEDGE -Familiarity with Microsoft suite including Excel, Power Point, Visio and Access will be considered a plus.  Additionally, knowledge of Coeus will be helpful.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position offers a well-qualified individual the opportunity to perform as an entry/intermediate level Preaward Specialist in a way that helps prepare them for positions of increasing responsibility in the field of research administration.  The successful candidate must possess a range of skills and experience that include, but are not limited to, flexibility; confidence in their own competency in order to engage difficult conversations when needed; an ability and the desire to work independently as well as part of a cohesive team; a significant amount of patience and a considerable ability to derive personal satisfaction from a job well-done.  Proposal deadlines are intense and often require multi-tasking as well as the ability and willingness to reprioritize on the fly.
