We received notice of our 90 day extension via email on 7/17/12 from xxxxxx@bpn.gov. It was a very informative email and began with "Why am I getting this email?"

Did anyone actually receive the notice that their registration is being extended?

All institutions are receiving the 90 day extension automatically. This is documented on the Grants.gov website (http://www.grants.gov/aboutgrants/technical_alerts.jsp <blockedhttp://www.grants.gov/aboutgrants/technical_alerts.jsp> ):

I was registered with CCR, do I need to register with SAM?
If you were already registered with CCR, you don’t need to do anything now. If your record was scheduled to expire between July 16, 2012 and October 15, 2012, CCR/SAM is extending your expiration date by 90 days. You will receive an e-mail notification from CCR when your expiration date is extended. You will then receive standard e-mail reminders to update your record based on this new expiration date. Those future e-mail notifications will come from SAM.

Two questions:

1. I have not been able to access the SAM or CCR website either this week or late last week. Is it just me or was there an announcement that I missed somewhere and these systems are, indeed, not available?

2. Our CCR registration expires next week but we received notice (from xxxxxx@bpn.gov) that we are being given an additional 90 days to extend our registration. Are other institutions also receiving this extension (I assume so) and if so, have you had any problems with continuing to submit grant applications via g.g. after your registration expired but while you were within the 90 day renewal grace period?

Appreciate your feedback...
Dara
