 *   The Grants and Contracts Officer is a pre-award position responsible for assisting faculty members and other University-wide grant seekers with the preparation of grant applications including the development of budgets and the preparation of the final grants package for submission to external funding agencies. The Grants and Contracts Officer position serves to promote faculty productivity in research, scholarship, and creative works with outside funding to support such work.
 *   The primary duty of the Grants and Contracts Officer is to assist faculty and staff grant seekers in the development of grant proposals, the accompanying budgets and budget narratives, and with the preparation of required forms and documentation that are part of the grant application package submitted to external funding agencies.

 *   The Grants and Contracts Officer will provide guidance with the interpretation of sponsor guidelines for specific federal and state grant programs, act as liaison between the grant seeker and the funding agency, and provide editorial assistance to craft well-written and persuasive grant proposals.

 *   The Grants and Contracts Officer ensures the completeness and accuracy of the final application package and facilitates the submission process whether submission is electronic, through Fed Ex, or the postal service.

 *   The Grants and Contracts Officer is responsible for disseminating funding opportunities to the university community by sending targeted grant alerts to potential grantseekers using the PIVOT/COS system and other funding alerts.

 *   The Grants and Contracts Officer represents LMU within the Research Administration community and at professional organizations such as NCURA and serves on committees as required.

 *   Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum 3 years professional experience in a university setting with progressively responsible positions.

Typically a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of regulation/policy changes.
