FCOI Policy Implementation Questions Marina Aloyets 05 Apr 2012 13:01 EST

Hi,

I was wondering how broadly everyone is implementing the new NIH FCOI
Policy requirements. Upon submission of new proposals, are you asking
for investigators to report all significant financial interests (SFIs)
related to their ‘‘Institutional responsibilities" (everything related
to their appointment), or only those related to the particular grant
submission?

Collecting information more broadly related to all of an investigator's
‘‘Institutional responsibilities” creates some duplication of effort for
a public university that already collects conflicts of interest
information (including some SFIs) per State Ethics regulations. How are
you handling this?

Thanks,
Marina
