Subject: [RESADM-L] New Restriction of Food & Beverage Expense on Federal
Grants?

Hello all!
I was wondering if anyone else has heard about a restriction on the
purchase of food and beverages using federal grant funds. We are a
second tier recipient of Department of Education funding (84.215X
discretionary grant) and are being told that there is a restriction
being imposed on all federal grants for the purchase of food and
beverages that would normally be allowable per A-21 (2 CFR 220) and that
the restriction is being imposed through A-133 (?). I checked the A-133
compliance supplement, EDGAR, OMB, and the Dept. of Ed site but can't
find anything regarding this.

This doesn't make any sense to me unless the restriction is program
specific and is being imposed on this particular grant, but I wanted to
check with the group to see if anyone else has heard about a restriction
on food/beverage purchases for all federal or Dept of Ed. grants.
