The George Mason University, Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP)
invites applications for a Senior Grants Administrator position.

OSP supports external funding for research, scholarly and creative
pursuits while ensuring the university's financial, contractual and
regulatory exposures are minimized. OSP provides guidance and support to
the university's community in its research efforts, and creates an
administrative environment which provides support while ensuring
protection of the university's financial and contractual obligations.

Incumbent will be responsible for performing all preaward functions for
two active centers (the National Center of Biodefense and Infectious
Diseases [NCBID] and the Center for Applied Proteomics and Molecular
Medicine[CAPMM]) on the Prince William campus. These functions include
proposal development and submission, nonfinancial postaward actions
(i.e., requests for incremental funding, rebudget requests, principal
investigator [PI] changes, etc.), and contract representations and
certifications.

The Senior Grants Administrator serves as the main point of contact for
the PIs at NCBID and CAPMM, and will also provide direct support as
needed to other PIs located on the Prince William campus. The individual
will also be responsible for working with the PIs to find grant proposal
opportunities from both government and nongovernmental agencies.

The applicant must have a basic understanding of the type of science
being performed at the two centers (e.g., general biology) and be able
to effectively communicate with the PIs on such topics to facilitate
successful submission of proposal applications for externally sponsored
funding. The applicant should have a demonstrated knowledge of federal,
state and sponsor rules and regulations related to grants and contracts.

Sponsored program and university experience is highly preferred. In
addition, the individual should have highly developed time-management,
problem-resolution and organizational skills. The individual should be
able to foster an environment that supports teamwork, collaboration and
high-quality customer service. Applicants should be proficient in MS
Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Bachelor's degree in biological sciences, business, accounting or a
related field is strongly preferred.

George Mason University is an equal opportunity employer. For full
consideration, applicants must apply online at http://jobs.gmu.edu for
position number 10436z; complete the staff application; and upload a
cover letter, resume and a list of three references with their contact
information.

Note: Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents and
successfully complete a criminal background check as required by federal
law.
