Position Summary:
The Neag School of Education, Center for Behavioral Education and Research (CBER) is seeking applicants for a Program Assistant II (UCP 4).  Reporting to the Director of the Center, this position will provide program and administrative support for CBER.  CBER is a growing center, with seven faculty members, three post doctoral fellows, a research associate and 15+ graduate assistants. Responsibilities include assisting with the management of the center's sponsored research grants, pre-award and post award.  Pre-award responsibilities will include grant preparation; assisting with budget development, and application submission, while working closely with Neag's grant manager.  Post-award responsibilities will include graduate assistant payroll, re-budget requests, cost transfers, grant close-outs, and processing and monitoring grant-related expenses to ensure appropriate allocation to sponsored awards.  This includes processing invoices, student payroll, and corporate credit card payments.  The candidate for this position will coordinate the activities of CBER including event planning, making necessary arrangements for conferences, and coordinate the hiring of new personnel.  Other responsibilities include editing manuscripts for publication; and draft, edit, disseminate and maintain informational and promotional material for CBER.  The successful candidate for this position will be a resource for faculty, post doctoral fellows, graduate assistants, and student workers and must work effectively with university offices, the Dean's office, the Educational Psychology department and state school districts.  The position requires supervising, hiring and scheduling student workers.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelor's degree in subject area related to program; three to five years of related experience; demonstrated ability to independently provide significant program support; demonstrate ability to regularly exercise good judgment regarding a wide variety of administrative matters; and possess good interpersonal, organizational, writing, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:  Experience in financial or grant administration; prior experience working in higher education; familiarity with APA writing standards and basic manuscript editing; and experience with Word, Excel, Adobe Read and Write, and MS Publisher.

Appointment Terms:
This is a 12 month, annually renewable position.
