Charlie - It used to be the case that we could submit NSF proposals through G.g and if the BIO directorate was involved, we needed to go into FastLane for the extra form. You may want to confirm with the NSF program officer that this is still the case now that NSF is allowing G.g submissions again.

As to timeframe, the GPG states:
"A request for a proposal file update automatically will be accepted if submitted prior to:

 * the deadline date specified in a program solicitation;

 * initiation of external peer review in cases when a target date is utilized;36 and

 * initiation of external peer review in the case of an unsolicited proposal.

A request for a proposal file update after the timeframes specified above will require acceptance by the cognizant NSF Program Officer. Such requests may be submitted only to correct a technical problem with the proposal (i.e., formatting or print problems). Changes in the content of the proposal should not be requested after the timeframes specified above. When a request is accepted, the proposed files or revisions to proposal attributes will immediately replace the existing files and become part of the official proposal."

Subject: [RESADM-L] NSF via Grants.gov

We are getting the following warning on NSF proposals being prepared for
submission through Grants.gov:

Warning: [NSF Cover Page 2.][NSF Warning-0059] This application is being
submitted to a BIO program, but the Grants.gov system does not yet support
the Proposal Classification Form, which is required by the BIO
directorate. Please use NSF's Proposal File Update module in FastLane to
complete the BIO form. Note that proposal file updates will not be
accepted after certain timeframes. Please refer to the GPG Chapter III.C
for more information.

Does this mean that we can submit via Gg and then subsequently go into
Fastlane to complete the other form?

Can anyone translate "certain timeframes"?

thanks

Charlie
