Re: Any suggestions for our graduate student? Lori Hulak 06 May 2009 07:04 EST

I use CRISP quite often and it's a good resource, also individual agencies and private foundations list their grantees on their websites. If they are looking outside of federal funding, the foundation directory website is a good resource.

Hi, I haven't used it in quite a while, so can't say if it's still being maintained, but have you tried CRISP?

Subject: [RESADM-L] Any suggestions for our graduate student?

Dear Colleagues,

I have had a request from one of our graduate students in our business/economics school (see below) and would greatly appreciate your suggestions that I can pass along to her. Thank you so much!

Dear Ms. Cataneo:

My name is Tavia Lee-Goldstein and I am a graduate student and research assistant in the Whittemore School of Business and Economics. I am doing research for Dr. Ludwig Bstiler of the marketing department. I have been on a bit of a mad search for some information for him recently, and was directed to your office.

Dr. Bstieler's research is in University Industry Partnerships, and I have spent the last several months contacting companies who have partnered with industries in Research and Development projects. Now, I am switching focus to universities. Unlike in industry, however, there are few resources to acquire lists of researchers at universities.

Right now I am working on putting together a list of faculty/researchers that work on sponsored research projects. This list would ideally include names, affiliations, positions and e-mail addresses of researchers from all universities in the U.S. who receive grants from government, industry or both.

The reason I am writing is to inquire if you have any advice regarding whether such a database already exists and how I would go about accessing it, or if not where a good place to begin collecting such information might be.

Thank you very much for your time, I really appreciate it.

Tavia Lee-Goldstein
