Bonnie,

We would only use the scenario you suggest (additional fund number) if the funders needed separate reporting of their own monies (i.e. funder 1 wants reporting on their $$ only, funder 2 wants reporting on their costshare only). An alternative would be to have multiple sources of revenue (revenue codes) in one fund. But, this would facilitate only 'one reporting' to both agencies of the same information, a reporting on the project in its entirety.

HTH,

Terri.

Subject: [RESADM-L] Banner System 3rd party cost-share

I would appreciate information from the Banner Users as to how you would
handle third party costshare cash.

We sent a proposal to a state agency which included $20,000 in costshare
from an external agency. We received the award from the prime funding state
agency. We would like to bring the costshare funding in so that we can
purchase the equipment and have 100% ownership of the equipment. How do
you manage this funding (Additional Resources)? One recommendation is to
set up a new grant for the costshare with an agreement from the third party.

I appreciate your comments.

Thanks,
Bonnie
