Re: NASA 272 Reports Maren Boyack 21 Jan 2009 15:23 EST

Good Morning,
With the conversion NASA did in DPM all our receipts are all off. Below
is the email NASA sent out.
Best of luck!
Maren Boyack

Hello Grantees,

I am getting a lot of calls relating to preparing the PSC 272 and the
due date of 1/22/09. Please be advised that GSFC is working to stabilize
the balances carried forward and we appreciate your patience as we
continue to work through this process.

I am aware that some institution’s balances were not carried forward
accurately. I have spoken with some institutions and requested that they
send me a spreadsheet with the following information:

Grant Number

Award/Budget amount

Drawdown to date (per the institution’s books)

Available balance

If you have already submitted the spreadsheet, we are working on
performing the analysis and preparing the adjusting entries to make the
data correct. These corrections should be complete by the end of the
current quarter. If you have not submitted a spreadsheet to me, please
do so at your earliest convenience.

In the meantime, I understand that the due date for the PSC 272 is
tomorrow – 1/22/09. I understand your apprehension to prepare the PSC
272 with incorrect data. I have spoken with PMS regarding GSFC’s issues
with inaccurate data and have been advised that you can notate on your
certification sheet that your ending cash on hand balances (and other
balances) are not correct and that you are working with NASA to correct.
It is important that you notate this, PMS is aware that we are advising
you to do this. We are working in conjunction with each other to get
these issues resolved as quickly as possible.

I apologize for not being as responsive as I’d like to be to your phone
messages. The three grants staff members (Peter Samuel, Shelby Sykes and
I) are currently working as efficiently as possible. Please understand
that we are trying to resolve these issues as quickly as possible.

If you have any additional questions or need further assistance, please
email me.

Julie
