Re: my error message is: there is no error message Kris Wolff 07 Jan 2009 13:32 EST

I am using Adobe 8.1.3 - so that didn't fix it.
I don't know if I agree that the Kafka error is the same as the broken pipe
error.

This was a very frequent error back in November. I reported it to
Grants.gov, as the Kafka error (From Charlie Hathaway's
characterization Oh great! Now the errors have errors. How would
Kafka handle this?)

I got this response
--------------------------
Bob--I am told that this error and the Kafka error both are a result of
using the improper version of Adobe Reader to submit and they are a
result of broken pipe. Marwan sent me a long string of e-mails on the
Kafka e-mail you had sent to Eben so I'm not sure if he got back to you
but Marwan indicates both errors are a result of broken pipe.

Broken pipe apparently can trigger a variety of error messages. I've
asked for a list of the various error messages that could be triggered
so that we can post them for people as a resource but I have not
received them yet
---------------------------
The ubiquitous "Broken Pipe" problem is supposed to be resolved by
using Adobe 8.1.3.

Has anyone using 8.1.3 gotten this error?

Hi Folks,
I am submitting today to NIH for an AIDS grant, received first the
submission notification from Grants.gov and then a second email
telling me the application had been rejected. The message is:

Error: Unable to obtain error message from exception

I called Grants.gov and was told to wait 10-15 minutes to see if I
got a second email telling me the application was validated, because
that error message means "the system found something but it really
didn't find anything so it will keep trying to push it through." I
waited, and in 15 minutes I got a second email saying the same
thing. So I called Grants.gov back and was told that their IT
department had no idea what that error message means, and they would
work on it but can't guarantee me that they'll have it resolved in
time for the application to be in by 5pm today.

Additionally, when I track the application on Grants.gov it says that
the app was "rejected with errors" but that "Sorry, there is no error
message info available currently."

Has anyone seen this message before? I am using an accepted version
of Adobe so that can't be the problem. I have both Mozilla and IE on
my computer and I am not sure which one the application "chose" to
use to submit, but does that make a difference? I do not recall if
it ever did before.

Thanks!
