Re: Grants.gov issues...again? Ashley Turbeville 20 Nov 2008 17:20 EST

I had these same issues on Wednesday afternoon but I could not even log-in to the server. I was told by the Grants.gov Help Desk that it was a busy time and to try back in a couple of hours. I was told that many people were "hitting" the server and it was running very slow. I was told the morning hours were the best time to submit. I gave up on submitting on Wednesday (thought I was doing good by submitting early) and came in very early this morning and submitted. Went right through but didn't get any email confirmations until many many hours later.

My question is: They know there is a problem - look at the last R01 deadline. Now we are having the same trouble with DOD and HRSA deadlines. If you cannot get through to the server then you are considered a late application and the responsibility is on you to petition the agency to accept the late application. This is becoming very tiresome and irritating.

Are others having problems with grants.gov? After we click the sign and submit button, it just sits there. Has not timed out yet like we saw with the NIH deadline earlier this month. I also check the status on the grants.gov site and it is in "green".
