Re: precautionary note Riggs, Mitzi 04 Nov 2008 14:24 EST

This happened to me last year after the NCURA annual meeting. There were 3 charges on my statement that originated in Detroit, MI before I realized it. The bank told me not to let my card out of my site, but that's nearly impossible when the waiter (or hotel employee) wants to take your card to run it through the credit card machine!

Thanks for the heads up, Zoya.

Subject: [RESADM-L] precautionary note

I don't want to make this look too alarming, but those of you who
traveled to SRA annual meeting may want to check your credit card
statements for unauthorized transactions. I had one that originated in
MD ten days after I left National Harbor, and the only place where I
gave out my card details was at the hotel where we all stayed. The
charge was not from the hotel, perhaps somebody got access to the hotel
records. My bank is investigating it, but in the meantime I thought I'd
let you know.
