Pilot Projects under NIH Prime Award Michelle Bird 08 Oct 2008 13:18 EST

Hello Colleagues-

We have a new investigator that is planning to apply for multiple pilot funding opportunities with the same proposal. The calls for applications are coming from various institutions, but the funds to support the pilot projects are originating in different U01/U19 awards. Is it allowable to submit the same proposal to these various calls for applications or would the NIH rule that you may not have the same proposal submitted simultaneously apply? Or does that fact that the pilot funding is under different awards from the NIH make them different and therefore allowable?

Any insight you can offer will be appreciated.

Thank you,
