Wake Forest University's Office of Research and Sponsored Programs has
an opening for an Associate Director for Faculty Research Compliance and
Support.

Position Summary:
Using the Click Commerce eIRB system, coordinates and monitors activity
that involves human subjects to ensure compliance with federally
mandated regulations protecting the rights and welfare of human
subjects.  Administers annual Conflicts of Interest (COI) disclosure
process for faculty and staff who are engaged in research and sponsored
programs.  Provides guidance and problem resolution to researchers in
the application of compliance related Federal/State laws, regulations,
and guidelines, as well as University policies.

Responsibilities:
*	Advises and assists researchers with new human subject research
applications and revisions.  Conducts "pre-review" of all applications,
amendments, and renewals and 	assigns reviewers.  Monitors continuing
review process. Electronically generates approval letters and other
correspondence to applicants using eIRB.
*	Organizes and coordinates activities of the Institutional Review
Board (IRB).  Using eIRB, electronically generates IRB meeting agendas
and minutes in accordance with 45 	CFR 46.  Attends IRB meetings.
*	Serves as the University's Human Protections Administrator (HPA)
under the University's federalwide assurance.  Maintains federalwide
assurance and IRB registration.
*	Performs post approval monitoring of IRB approved studies as
needed.
*	Provides guidance and problem resolution to researchers in the
application of compliance related Federal/State laws, regulations, and
guidelines, as well as university 	policies.
*	Advises and assists Associate Provost for Research and Director
on all compliance related issues
*	Participates in compliance-related policy and procedures
development.  Monitors federal guidelines/regulations to ensure that
WFU's policies and practices remain in 	compliance.
*	Monitors COI disclosure for faculty and staff who participate in
sponsored programs.  Serves on the university's COI Committee.
*	As times permits, assumes responsibility for other compliance
related activities.
*	Performs other related duties as assigned.
