Loyola University New Orleans has an opening for a Grants Development
Specialist in the Office of Grants and Research.  The review of
applications will begin on 08/13/07 and continue until the position is
filled.

_Duties_:
1.  Write and edit proposal text.
2.  Assist faculty, staff, and administrators in developing and
preparing research/scholarly proposals, contracts, sub-contracts, and
memoranda of agreement.
3.  Assist with budget preparation for proposals.
4.  Interpret grant proposal funding guidelines.
5.  Coordinate internal clearance procedures prior to submitting proposals.
6.  Identify potential funding sources for faculty and university projects.
7.  Confer with faculty, staff, and administrators to develop ideas for
sponsored funding proposals.
8.  Monitor post-award compliance with grant/contract requirements.
9.  Inform the university community of upcoming grant/contract
opportunities.
10. Conduct periodic training workshops to develop and enhance proposal
writing skills of faculty, staff, and administrators.
11. Match funding announcements to research interests contained in a
searchable faculty/staff database.
12. Perform other related duties to the work described as assigned.

_Qualifications_:
1.  Bachelors Degree.
2.  Two years experience in writing grants and identifying sources of
external funding.
2.  Strong verbal and written communication skills.
3.  Computer skills.
4.  Highly organized.

_Salary_:  $38,000-$42,000 per year plus benefits.
