POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT # 106611

TITLE:  Coordinator (Sponsored Projects Officer)

CATEGORY: Exempt, full time, 12-month appointment

RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting to an Assistant Director, this position assumes responsibility for a wide range of research administration duties, which include providing proposal development assistance and review, ensuring compliance with sponsor and university’s policies and procedures, negotiating contracts, accepting and managing awards, subcontracting, and acting as liaison between sponsors and faculty/departmental administrators.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree required and a minimum of three years experience in research administration or similar work.  Knowledge of federal sponsors’ policies and regulations.  Knowledge of OMB Circulars A-21, A-110 and A-133 and Federal Acquisition Regulations required. Experience in negotiating research grant and contract clauses suitable for a university preferred.   Electronic proposal submissions experience via Grants.gov highly desirable.   Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and using database tools preferred.  Proficiency in the following areas: verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, organization skills, and the ability to reconcile differing viewpoints.  A strong customer service orientation in a deadline driven environment is essential.

COMPENSATION: Low 60’s and commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.
