Re: NIH Grants.gov Parent Applications Robert Beattie 20 Apr 2007 10:36 EST

I do not know the answer. I only reply to ask how you know that the
forms for the June and July dates have been released. NIH staff have
said they would make the forms available 60 days prior to the
deadline. Thus we might have expected the forms for summer to be
posted around April 1. However, what if the staff were planning to
release the Adobe forms version for the summer deadlines. They might
still be preparing those.

So the crucial question, seems to me, to be what forms version will
NIH use for the June and July R01 deadlines -- PureEdge (for non-
Macs)/Workforms(for Macs) or Adobe? And, as Rick asks, if the
former, will the forms be the same as were used for the winter
deadlines.

I personally hope that the PureEdge/Workforms versions will still be
used. No reason to rush into the Adobe version with out sufficient
testing. Moreover, I hope the forms now available are the ones to
use as some of our folks are starting already.

Hey,

Initially, the NIH claimed that the Parent Application Formsets for
the investigator-initiated proposals would be customized for each
deadline (for example, the PureEdge forms used for the February R01
deadline could not be used for the June R01 deadline). Now, I am
unable to detect any such differences – the current Parent R01 forms
available at Grants.gov seem to be identical to the ones used back in
February.

Is this indeed the case? Is there a document which discusses this
somewhere?
