The Office for Sponsored Programs at the University of Connecticut,
Storrs Campus, is seeking a high-energy professional to join our team of
Pre-Award Grant Administrators.

The ideal candidate will work with departmental staff to provide
analytical and technical support to faculty, researchers, and University
members during the proposal review and approval process, including
proposal and budget development and review of submissions to assure
compliance with fiscal requirements and regulations established by the
University, Federal agencies, State of Connecticut, and other sponsoring
agencies.

Specific responsibilities include:  (1) Provide technical assistance to
Principal Investigators in the development of grant proposal
applications and budget preparation; (2) Review grant/contract proposals
to assure fiscal compliance with granting agency requirements,
compatibility with State statute and University policy; may recommend or
negotiate changes; (3) Provide technical assistance to Principal
Investigators in interpretation of funding agency regulations and
requirements, and advise regarding budgetary issues affecting proposal
applications; (4) Maintain knowledge of and interpret pertinent Federal,
State and University regulations regarding the preparation and
submission of grant proposal applications.  Perform other tasks as
requested.

Required qualifications and skills include:  (1) Bachelor's degree plus
four years of relevant experience or eight years relevant experience in
a business organization or government agency involving accounting,
budgeting and contracting; (2) Knowledge of Federal and State laws and
regulations; (3) Ability to communicate positively and effectively with
sponsoring and regulatory agencies, as well as faculty, administrators
and other members of the University; (4) Ability to think critically,
flexibly and analytically; (5) Ability to work independently or
collaboratively in a team environment, as required. (6) Experience using
computerized spreadsheets, databases and word-processing applications
desired, Microsoft Office Suite preferred.  Occasional evening hours may
be required.

This is a full-time permanent position.  Rank and salary will be
commensurate with experience.
