Re: Debarment Patricia Lowney 19 Jun 2006 10:55 EST

Hi Freddie,
for what a delayed response may be worth.

We also have Debarment on our checklist and historically have delegated
this responsibility to the PI; for subcontracts/consultants we
subscribe to Visual Compliance (www.visualcompliance.com) which has a
debarred parties list (more comprehensive than EPTS (sp). This is a
nice tool as it creates a audit trail, date stamped for when the search
was done. Very easy to use.

Like some others, we will be instituting an annual review, and are
working out the initial process (once that's done, will be much easier
to stay on top of new folks).

We are in the process of implementing a procedure of checking to see
if
a faculty member has been or is debarred from submitting and receiving
funding under Federal nonprocurement programs. I am trying to find out
what procedure(s) other universities are using to monitor this type of
thing. All input will be helpful and appreciated.

Thanks,
