NIH R21 submissions Charlie Hathaway 24 May 2006 11:14 EST

Question.....
We have received the following warning on some, but not all, of our R21 submissions:
"The Research Plan is limited to 15 pages. This may span 18 pages due to page breaks but the total space occupied by text should not exceed 15 pages. - Warning"
In some cases, page breaks/empty space/blank pages(!) are clearly the cause. But in others, they are not. I want to understand how the PureEdge files are being read and this one stumps me.
Has anyone else seen a clean 15 page research plan prompt this warning?

Hint....
We were submitting to Grants.gov and the AOR had signed in and pushed all the right buttons but nothing was happening...except sands in the hourglass. Reason? AOR had installed PureEdge but NOT the PureEdge update. After we put that in, all went thru fine. (Now we know what the update does)

thanks

Charlie
