SPONSORED PROGRAMS MANAGER POSITION
Office of Sponsored Programs, Pre-Award

As a member of the OSP team, the successful candidate will work directly
with faculty on the creation and development of grant proposals and the
negotiation of grant and contract awards for research, training and other
projects of SJSU.

Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience. Minimum five years
experience in a progressively responsible pre-award contracts and grants
position at a foundation, university, or other-non-profit organization.
Experience in budget preparation, contractual negotiations and
intellectual property/technology transfer issues. Experience in electronic
research administration.

Desired qualifications include: Thorough knowledge and understanding of
pre-award requirements, government relations and principles applicable to
contracts and grants. Thorough knowledge of current computer and office
automation equipment and software required.  Proficient in Internet
research, MS Office, spreadsheets or other applicable software packages.
Excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal skills. Ability to
prioritize tasks, to work independently, and to maintain confidentiality.
Excellent judgment, independent creative problem solving skills. Knowledge
of OMB circulars, A-110, A-21, A-133 and FAR regulations.
