Re: Page limits on Dept. of Energy proposals Robert Beattie 25 Aug 2005 10:08 EST

We might expect DOE proposals to be submitted through Grants.gov in
the future. There was a deadline for CFDA 81.121 proposals this
week. We did 4 through G.g. There was a 14 page limit for the
narrative noted on page 15 of the guidelines from G.g. Also info on
font and margins when printed. Thus it might be necessary to read
the guidelines for each specific application prior to preparing an
application to determine the limits for that program. Not standard
limits for all programs.

All in all the process went well for us. My only complaint is that
when I called the help-desk for some advice, when they put me on hold
there was terrible, harsh and loud saxophone music. They already
have various button pushing required to get the the appropriate
place. Maybe they could add one for music choice or volume. I
called at 8:30 am and was not ready for loud jazz.

Good Morning-

It’s been awhile since I’ve worked on a Dept. of Energy proposal, and
my PI is asking about page limits for the project description. The
instructions I found on the Office of Science site are more focused
on content. There is a page limit listed for the biographical
sketch, but not for the project description. I’m also looking for
font size, margins, and all the other little nit-picky requirements.

Can anyone direct me to a site that lists more specific formatting
instructions for DOE proposals?

Thanks for your help,

-Amy
