Re: Grants.gov and NSF Robert Beattie 13 Jul 2005 15:17 EST

Please do not say "ending FastLane." That is very scary.

I do not think there are plans to end FastLane. Rather, proposal
submission will go via Grants.gov to FastLane. FastLane will still be
the proposal and award management system for NSF.

I may be wrong on this, but everything I have heard over the past year,
at least, indicates this to me.

Pam, is this what you meant by "ending FastLane?" Ending as a
transmission device.

My understanding from attending an NSF workshop this spring is that
NSF will offer Grants.gov as an option, but they will make sure that
the system works for scientific proposals before ending FastLane.
