Re: setting up a center Dragoo, M. Heather 01 Nov 2004 11:28 EST

Happy November everyone!

One of our faculty members has created a center (bone & joint care) with
two partners from a local hospital. They have receive a substantial
amount of funding already. The center is in the process of becoming a
(limited liability corp). They will be setting up a biomechanics lab on
campus. (money coming to the university will likely be for equipment and
salaries) I am seeking advice on what needs to be from the university's
stand point. As a fairly young pui, we have not encountered a similar
situation in the past. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly
appreciated. Also any example contracts (and/or language) and other
documents would be most helpful.

I want to make sure we cover all the bases. This is a good opportunity
for the institution and I want to make sure everyone's interests are
protected.

Thanks in advance.
