SPECIALIST - COMPLIANCE OFFICER

RESPONSIBILITIES:  This position is responsible to ensure institutional
compliance with diverse governmental regulations, policies and
procedures concerning research that involves human and animal subjects
for Middle Tennessee State University. Tasks include: manage all
regulatory compliance for the university research community in the areas
of animal care and human subjects in conjunction with IRB and IACUC
committees.  Work with the IRB and IACUC committees; review IRB
protocols; participate in external and internal inspections and audits;
prepare management reports and operating procedures and develop training
and online instructional materials. Serve as campus liaison with
representative agencies and university departments, and perform related
tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Masters degree and three years progressive experience
with compliance issues related to university based research and
sponsored programs (IRB, IACUC). Required to work independently,
interact professionally, interpret complex policies and procedures,
possess effective technical writing and organizational skills with
ability to multi task.

SALARY RANGE:   $38,306 - $46,733   Commensurate with experience.
