 SENIOR RESEARCH ADMINISTRATOR
 University of Nevada, Las Vegas
 Office of Sponsored Programs

The Office of Sponsored Programs at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas is
seeking a full-time Senior Research Administrator.  The position will be
available September 1, 2004.  This full-time, 12-month, professional
position is expected to coordinate and provide a wide range of preaward and
non-financial postaward services for the UNLV sponsored programs office.
Services include, but are not limited to: providing proposal development
services to faculty; reviewing and negotiating proposals and awards;
preparing subawards and other contractual agreements; monitoring funding
opportunities and providing program information to interested faculty and
staff; and developing and providing relevant training and presentations to
faculty and staff.  The Senior Research Administrator also serves as Team
Leader for college-focused research administration units within the Office
of Sponsored Programs.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree from an accredited
college or university and 3 years of broad-based experience in university
research administration.  Candidates must either currently possess and
maintain a Certified Research Administrator credential or agree to earn one
within three years of employment.  Candidates also must be familiar with
electronic research administration, possess advanced computer skills, and
have the ability to quickly master specialized software applications.
Proficiency in the latest versions of Microsoft applications is highly
desirable.  Good written and verbal communication skills are essential, as
are the abilities to manage people and tasks, and work with diverse groups.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Position is
contingent upon funding.
