Re: Does anyone know anything about NRSP? Steinert, Bruce, W 02 Jul 2004 13:58 EST

Hi Debbie,

Organization of the National Animal Genome Program and NRSP-8
(http://www.wisc.edu/ncra/NRSP8summary.doc)

"NRSP-8 is a national multistate project that supports the National
Animal Genome Research Program (NAGRP). NRSP-8 is designed to link and
facilitate animal genome research efforts with universities, SAES,
CSREES, ARS, and the animal breeding industry." (more info on the site)

and

NC1004 : Genetic and Functional Genomic Approaches to Improve Production
and Quality of Pork
(http://www.lgu.umd.edu/project/home.cfm?trackID=2055)

Seems to be similar to the above project, but looks to be more industry
driven.

Participants list at
http://www.lgu.umd.edu/project/member.cfm?trackID=2055

Wish I could give you more, but we aren't associated with either to my
knowledge.

Hope that helps,

Subject: [RESADM-L] Does anyone know anything about NRSP?

We have a faculty member who's trying to get something called a "pig
chip"
and he says we can only get it if we are an "NRSP-8/NC-1004
organization."

Can anyone tell me what that is?

Thanks!
 Debbie
