Clinical trials - Physician fees Pamela Tazik 25 Mar 2004 12:32 EST

We are reviewing our fiscal procedures for billings on clinical trials
and wanted to gather information about how physician fees are billed on
clinical trials at other institutions. At our medical center,
procedures can generate charges from two separate sources, the hospital
and the practice plan. For example, an ECG would be billed in two
components, the cost of doing the ECG (hospital charge) and the cost of
interpretation of the ECG (physician charge through the practice plan).
I am interested in knowing how your institution handles payment of
physician fees on clinical trials. You can respond to the group or to
directly to me. Thanks for your help...Pam
