Assistant Controller for the Office of Research Accounting and Costing
Standards

The University of Rochester, a Research University I and a member
institution of the elite Association of American Universities, seeks
applications from highly qualified individuals to become the Assistant
Controller for the Office of Research Accounting and Costing Standards,
reporting directly to the University Controller.  This position serves as
the Director of the Office of Research Accounting and Costing Standards with
primary responsibility for managing post-award financial administration for
sponsored research as well as the management of the University's facilities
and administrative cost rates, fringe benefit rates, CAS compliance, and
other service center costing activities. Additional cash management
responsibilities include oversight, monitoring, and reporting of the billing
and collection activities of the University's sponsored research base that
approximates $300 million annually.  This position requires thorough
knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and analysis, and
Federal regulations related to post-award administration and cost accounting
including OMB Circulars A-133, A-110, and A-21.

Candidates should have 5 to 7 years of related experience and a minimum of 5
years of supervisory responsibilities in a cost accounting or sponsored
research accounting environment is required, preferably in a complex
research university.  A bachelor's degree is required and an MBA and/or CPA
is preferred.  Compensation to be determined to match the skills and
experience of the individual.
