FINANCIAL DIRECTOR SPONSORED FINANCIAL REPORTING

The U of M has an excellent career opportunity for a dynamic,
experienced
business manager as Director of Sponsored Financial Reporting
(SFR) in the Controller’s Office. This position provides departmental
and University wide leadership in the management of reporting and
receivables related to sponsored research grants, including
responsibility for coordinating and assisting with annual federal
audits, and completion of fiscal year end audit schedules and analyses.
In addition, this position is responsible for ensuring that
reports and invoices comply with agency terms, conditions, laws, and
regulations. The Director manages a unit of 31 accounting and support
personnel, and will develop and recommend annual objectives and
long-range plans for the unit.

The ideal candidate will have a 4-year BA, BS or advanced degree in
accounting, finance or related field from an accredited institution. A
minimum of 5 years of related work, including 3 years of supervisory
experience within a large organization is required. Excellent technical
and analytical accounting skills, paired with strong organizational
skills
are essential. Must be able to demonstrate excellent written and oral
communication skills and possess the ability to effectively manage
and implement new processes in a highly decentralized, changing
environment. Experience in a research university, higher education,
or a nonprofit research setting; and experience with sponsored project
accounting and reporting is preferred.

Salary Range: $70,000-$80,000
