short R01s Charlie Hathaway 01 Oct 2002 14:28 EST

Does anyone know of any data on the distribution of NIH R01 length (project period)?

Specifically...what percent of R01s are awarded for less than 3 years?

[I know about R03s and R21s and have been to the NIH funding stats page. Clearly, the numbers I am looking for will vary a lot depending on the Institute, i.e. NCCAM and NINR probably have some short R01s. I am most interested in the larger, more traditional, institutes.]

Thanks

Charlie
