CENTRAL MISSOURI STATE UNIVERSITY

DIRECTOR, OFFICE OF SPONSORED PROGRAMS

FUNCTIONS: Reports to Assistant Provost for Research and Dean of the
Graduate School.  Provides university-wide leadership for the promotion,
development, and administration of sponsored projects, grants and related
activities for faculty, staff, and students.  Administers policies and
procedures for all phases of grant application and routing to assure proper
implementation of all university funded projects.  Translates institutional
goals into proactive motivation and encouragement of faculty, staff and
students in search of external funding and provides leadership in writing
institutional grant proposals for that funding.

REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree; minimum 3 years experience in pre-award
grant administration environment and 3 years direct experience in grant
proposal development; demonstrated ability to write and secure external
funding; experience with state, federal, and foundation funding sources and
budget preparation and control; knowledge of research techniques and
methodologies to evaluate programs; ability to compile and verify data and
prepare reports.  Strong communication and computer skills.
