Re: Who can be a PI? Stephen Erickson 12 Mar 2002 10:14 EST

At BC, we have a policy that differentiates by type of employee. We will allow
full-time research staff to be a PI with the approval of the appropriate Dean.
Retired, adjunct, visiting faculty and others on exceptional bases can be co-PIs
with regular term faculty provided space is available and each sponsored project
is approved by the department chair, dean, and Academic VP. We would not allow
visitors, retired faculty, or adjunt faculty to be sole PIs on sponsored
projects.
