Re: contract Review Mary Spijkerman 24 Jan 2002 10:23 EST

** High Priority **

Dear Mary,

As Director of Grants & Contracts I review all research related contracts that come to the health science center. I work closely with our legal office and use their expertise on any questions that I identify. All contracts are routed by the legal office for signature and they maintain the originals of all executed agreements in their office. We have a very good relationship with our legal folks and couldn't do our job without them.

This question is directed to Sponsored Programs Offices who
administer contracts -

How do you handle review of contracts in your office and when, if ever,
does your institutional attorney(s) become involved in the review of same?

Thank you.
