Grants Director

The Ad Council invites applications for the position of Grants Director.

The Advertising Council is a private, nonprofit organization, which is the leading producer of public service communications.  Founded in 1942, the Ad Council undertakes national, multi-media advertising campaigns that benefit children, families and communities.  Ad Council campaigns save lives and resources, educate the public about critical issue and concerns, making America a healthier country in which to live.

The Grants Director will provide strategic leadership in planning and implementing the Ad Council's program to secure grant funding. This position will help support the Ad Council's ability to undertake the necessary issues and research programs necessary to effectively fulfill its mission.

In doing so, this position has three principal objectives:

·       Successfully grow the Ad Council's grants portfolio to achieve annual funding goals;
·       Secure outside grant-funding from federal, state and local government agencies, and private foundation sources, to diversify the Ad Council's funding base; and
·       Assist the directors of grant-funded projects in administering their projects so that their goals and objectives are met in a timely manner and all appropriate federal, state and agency policies are followed.

The Grants Director reports to the Senior Vice President-Corporate Development.

Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will possess:
·       At least five years successful grant development experience;

·       Demonstrated ability to identify a variety of federal and foundation funding sources, and knowledge of all necessary application, reporting and verification requirements;

·       A record of progressive leadership and achievement in the field of grants, with demonstrated results in securing grant funding;

·       Excellent writing, editing and presentation skills;

·       Demonstrated ability to manage people and multiple tasks within a complex and time-sensitive work environment;

·       Ability to work within deadlines and use all computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), grants software and on-line database;

·       Advanced degree preferred.
