Research Service Coordinator

The George Washington University, the largest higher education
institution in the nation's capital, is seeking an enthusiastic,
organized, customer service-oriented candidate for the position of
Research Service Coordinator.  (#R9192)

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities.

Coordinate and monitor the daily administrative and fiscal activities of
assigned sponsored research projects.  Provide cradle-to-grave research
administrative support, including pre-award functions such as helping
faculty prepare and submit proposals, and post-award functions such as
monitoring and approving expenditures of sponsored research funds.  See

Entry-Level Qualifications.

Required: Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of training and
experience; a minimum of three years of professional experience in a
pre-award and/or post-award environment, including budgeting and/or
accounting; strong interpersonal, communication, customer service, and
organizational skills; proven ability to work effectively in a team
environment and demonstrated willingness to learn and share new ideas;
familiarity with computer-oriented applications and technology.

Desirable: wide-ranging experience with the principles, practices, and
procedures relative to federal and non-federal sponsored research in an
academic environment; familiarity with Oracle financial software.
