GRANTS SPECIALIST

Working with the Executive Director, Deputy Executive Director, and
Senior Investigators, the incumbent will be responsible for:

·       Pre-award activities, including but not limited to:
·       Providing staff with information on new funding opportunities
and working with staff to identify appropriate funding sources.
·       Working with staff in the submission of grant and contract
proposals to insure the completeness of the application, including
reviewing the requirements of an application; identifying the
appropriate funding mechanism; developing the budget; assisting with the
completion of forms; providing necessary documents and other necessary
information; and whatever else is necessary to submit an application.

·       Post-award activities related to grant and contract
administration of funded projects, including but not limited to:
·       Communicating, as necessary, with funding sources regarding the
progress achieved, problems encountered, or proposed changes in funded
projects.
·       Working with project staff to insure protection of human
subjects and IRB approval.
·       Establishing contracts with subcontractors and collaborators.
·       Maintaining the official project files.
·       Working with the Budget Director to insure prompt and accurate
budgetary reports reflecting current and forecasted expenditures.
·       Working with staff to insure that all of the programmatic and
administrative requirements of a grant or contract are satisfied in a
timely fashion and are of the highest quality.

National Development and Research Institutes, Inc. (NDRI), is an
independent behavioral science research institute with a primary focus
on substance abuse, HIV/AIDS and related social and personal problems.
NDRI's research portfolio, approximately $20 million this fiscal year,
consists of grants and contracts from federal, state, city, and private
funding sources, but most primarily the National Institute on Drug Abuse
and other components of NIH.

Minimum Requirements: Masters Level Degree, familiarity with
social/health sciences and funding sources required.
