ADA requirements for distance education Martha M. Taylor 08 Oct 2001 17:12 EST

I received a call from the person who manages our ADA compliance. When we
offer degree courses through distance education, we are responsible for
ensuring that anyone requiring accommodation is properly accommodated. The
question came up about what we do when we have some form of distance
learning opportunity under a sponsored project (as opposed to part of our
standard degree curriculum). Do we budget for the costs of potential
accommodations? Do we cover this with institutional funds if it comes up?
I am curious to know what other schools are doing, if anything in this
regard. Thanks.
