The Office of Grants and Contracts at the Ohio State University Research
Foundation invites nominations and applications for an Associate Director,
who will be expected to take a leadership role in the Office.
Responsibilities include supervising staff; developing, maintaining and
implementing policies and procedures; assisting other staff in interpreting
federal regulations and negotiating complex award/contract terms;
participating in grants management system conversion; and assisting in
developing and presenting training programs for Research Foundation and
campus personnel. The Associate Director will spend about 60% time providing
pre- and post-award grants management support for an assigned constituency.

The Ohio State University Research Foundation provides complete grants
management support for the Ohio State University.  Annual research volume
exceeds $250 million and is expected to continue increasing.  To bring
state-of-the-art electronic research administration to the campus, the
Foundation has recently begun converting its legacy data systems to
PeopleSoft grants management software.  We expect to complete the conversion
in approximately two years.

Qualifications:  The successful candidate will be creative and
self-motivated, with excellent communication skills and the ability to form
effective working relations with faculty, staff, University administrators
and sponsors.  Excellent problem solving skills are also required.  S/he
will demonstrate knowledge of all aspects of research administration
acquired during at least 5-7 years of employment in progressively
responsible positions in a University or similar environment.  A bachelor's
degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
An advanced degree and Certified Research Administrator status preferred.
Experience with integrated grants management systems is also a plus.  Salary
is competitive and is commensurate with relevant experience.
