The University of Denver seeks a Director for its Office of Sponsored
Programs.  The Director supervises a staff of 13-15 and reports directly to
the Vice Provost for Research with secondary reporting responsibility to
the Vice Chancellor for Business and Financial Affairs.

Responsibilities:  encourage, assist, and facilitate faculty efforts to
obtain and maintain funding in support of research and scholarship; support
University policies and procedures involving sponsored activities; direct
all aspects of pre- and post-award activities, coordinate post-award
reporting, technical and financial, to researchers and sponsoring agencies;
direct efforts to ensure compliance with all institutional, state, and
federal regulations, including protocols for human subjects and animal
care; and direct development and negotiation of indirect cost rates.

Qualifications:  bachelor’s degree, master’s degree preferred with 5-10
years related experience; thorough understanding of all aspects of both
pre- and post-award sponsored programs administration, preferably at a
major research institution; knowledge of state-of-the-art electronic
research; well-developed communication skills; creativity in encouragement
of research and entrepreneurship; and experience in financial management
systems, thorough understanding of accounting principles, contract
negotiation and intellectual property issues.  Salary is commensurate with
experience.
