Notes: This posting represents two open positions.

General Duties/Description: Review and with delegated authority approve
institution-wide proposals to funding agencies or recommend for final
signature and submission. Conduct fiscal and administrative audit of
allowability of costs, completeness, accuracy, cost sharing requirements,
indirect costs, administrative costs, benefit loading rates and
subcontract proposal. Ensure appropriate review for compliance with human
subjects, animal use, conflict of interests, etc.

Review and negotiate with sponsors and recommend for the University
acceptance of the terms and conditions of grant and contract awards
including intellectual property issue, copyright, and publication rights
to ensure compliance with institutional research policies. Analyze and
initiate account authorization for new, renewal, and amendments for award
accounts. Under pre-award authority, initiate establishment of advance
budget and pre-award accounts. With delegated authority, audit and approve
budgetary and administrative actions on grant and contract awards, concur
on institution-wide requests requiring sponsor prior approval.

Provide technical advice, interpret sponsors rules and regulations, and
explain UW research policies and procedures to faculty, staff and
interested parties. Serve as liaison between institution and sponsors
regarding various post award issues.

Requirements: A Bachelor's degree and three years of experience in grant
or contract administration.

Additional Requirements: Strong interpersonal and communication skills and
the ability to work independently. Knowledge of MS Word, Excel is
required. Experience with sponsored projects and negotiation of sponsored
project's awards. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure
environment with strict deadlines and able to manage multiple priorities.

Desirable: Knowledge of federal regulations, familiar with Electronic
Research Administration and MS Access.
