city in the United States, has just received designation by the UNC Board of
Governors as doctoral-intensive. Enrollment will grow from 17,000 to 25,000

continuing development as a research university. Its seven colleges (Arts
and Sciences, Architecture, Business Administration, Education, Engineering,

expanding array of master's and doctoral degree programs, and its centers
and institutes provide excellent facilities and relationships that stimulate
research and collaboration with business, education, and industry. The
University intends to be known especially for its nationally and
internationally recognized research and for its role in addressing the major
educational, economic, social, and cultural needs of the greater Charlotte
region.

The successful candidate will have exceptional interpersonal and

demonstrated track record of achievement in proposal development in an
academic setting, the ability to assess individual faculty skills and
strengths, familiarity with federal and private research funding,
familiarity with diverse research methodologies, and vision and creativity
for developing new directions in interdisciplinary research. The ability to

but a doctoral degree is preferred.
