Evanston Northwestern Healthcare's Research Institute is seeking an
experienced
Director of Research Development.  Qualified candidate will direct and
coordinate
research development activities for the ENH Research Institute.

Summary of Duties:
Qualified person will have general responsibility for identifying funding
opportunities, and matching those opportunities to the interests and
capabilities of ENH researchers.  The Director will develop and implement
strategies that enhance government and industry funding in research, and
support the Senior Vice President for Research in achieving organizational
objectives.

Functional areas of responsibility include:
*       Internal program building - building or catalyzing multidisciplinary
programs in key priority areas and assisting investigators in preparing
proposals to government and industry sponsors.
*       Liaison from the Research Institute to the ENH Office of
Philanthropy for fundraising  purposes.
*       Management support and oversight of implementation of ENH
Intellectual property goals and objectives.

Qualifications:
The preferred qualifications for this position include:  Ph.D. and the
equivalent
combination of education, training and experience from which the preferred
skills can be
inferred.  Required are extensive experience in government/industry
sponsored research and
demonstrated understanding of issues of concern to a research institute in a

medical/hospital setting.
