Tim--

We had a meeting on our campus last week to discuss this, and one issue that
arose was the considerable turnover in some of the research positions and
the difficulty of keeping up with certifications for those positions, in
particular.

I think another issue may be having one "course" or "exam" or whatever is
determined to be the best method and using it for everyone from faculty to
research techs to animal handlers to people like us and covering ALL the
basic concepts involved in this mandate.

I guess another question I have is why SHOULD everyone be trained on
EVERYTHING if a great deal of it is not relevant to his/her job . . .
especially in some of the technical positions? Not that it wouldn't be
WONDERFUL if everyone had this training . . . but is it necessary (and worth
the effort)?

I'll be interested in seeing other responses.
